COMY, SHISEIDO and Jingbo Jointly Launch China’s First Waste Plastic Chemical Recycling Chain, Paving New Path for Circular Economy

In April 2024, COMY, SHISEIDO, and Shandong Jingbo Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Jingbo Petrochemical), jointly built China’s first waste plastic chemical recycling industrial chain, heralding a new stage for the country’s waste plastic chemical recycling sector.

COMY leverages its chemical recycling equipment to turn SHISEIDO’s waste plastic packaging into basic chemicals like pyrolysis oil (dubbed COMY Oil). Jingbo Petrochemical and Jingbo Polyolefin then refine this oil into virgin-grade post-consumer recycled (PCR) polypropylene, which packaging firms process into new plastic packaging—completing the primary " waste plastic to food-grade new plastic" recycling chain.
